In recent years Gorey and its wider area have developed a wide variety of recreation facilities including a state of the art Skatepark and a new multi age Play park based in the Townpark while plans are underway to develop the Gorey Showgrounds facility in the centre of the town. The town has a strong sporting history featuring All Ireland and County GAA Champions while Rugby is also well established in the town through the dedicated grounds which hosts the GRFC.
In the wider Gorey area, Courtown Wood which includes the Forest Park leisure facility and Playpark have further added to the number of quality facilities in the locality.
